What is a slider?
Sliders are mini burgers with a variety of fillings, not just beef, that are served on a 3” bun. The name comes from WW2 sailors in the U.S. Navy, who referred to these mini burgers as ‘sliders’ because they ‘slid right down.’
The first sliders we ate , apart from ‘The White Castle’ sliders in Las Vegas, were at Russell Norman’s ‘Spuntino’ in Soho, in the early 00’s. The delight in being able to eat 2 or 3 different small burgers, a beef slider for example, a fish slider or a meatball slider, and drink a beer cocktail, was amazing. Even though then we were on a different track, we banked the idea of ‘sliders’.
You will find us at various public events and at regular pitches, in and around East Anglia.

Our trucks
We always knew we wanted to serve our sliders from a vintage truck. We looked at a few until one day, like love at first sight, we were sent a photograph of the 1970's blue truck with its smart white sun shade. Unable to go and see it, we took a punt and how right we were. Beautifully classic on the outside, it has been fitted out with a state of the art catering kitchen which is a pleasure to work in.
Our first van, "Petit Bleu", we decided to source a second van, a long wheel based version of the Citroen H van which we promptly christened "Grand Bleu".
Our food trucks are things of beauty. Converted and stocked with everything we need to cook and build our sliders, we are ready to go out and feed the good people of East Anglia.
